Our Story
Redline Steel® was started by two friends, Colin and Cameron, in a small garage in Illinois. As young men, they shared a passion for cars and motorsports. Colin was an avid NASCAR fan and Cameron raced dirt track cars on the weekends. They both had a love of automotive culture and fine craftsmanship.
In their spare time, Colin and Cameron began making custom metal signs as gifts for friends and family. These handmade pieces featured vintage logos, funny sayings, and automotive themes. The signs were cut from real American steel and hand finished, giving them a distressed, vintage look.
Everyone who received one of Colin and Cameron’s signs absolutely loved them. All of their friends wanted signs of their own. Seeing how popular their creations were, Colin and Cameron realized they were onto something big. In 2009, they officially launched Redline Steel® and started selling their custom metal signs online.
At first, they ran the business out of their garage. Cameron handled the metal cutting and fabrication while Colin managed the website and orders. Through word of mouth and social media, Redline Steel® started to gain a loyal following of customers from all over the country. As demand grew, Colin and Cameron moved operations into a small workshop and hired their first employee.
Over the years, Redline Steel® has steadily grown from those humble garage beginnings into the thriving company it is today. We now operate out of a 16,000 square foot facility in Illinois. Our skilled team of metal artisans produces thousands of pieces each month that are shipped worldwide.

Our Workshop
All Redline Steel® products are proudly made at our 16,000 square foot manufacturing facility located in Illinois. This hands-on workshop is equipped with advanced machinery that allows us to efficiently produce the high quality signs we are known for in large volumes.
Our expert team of metal fabrication specialists cut, coat, finish, and inspect every piece we make. They take pride in their work and it shows in the final product. We continually refine our processes to find the optimal balance between human craftsmanship and technology.

The Redline Process
Each Redline Steel® sign undergoes an extensive production process that involves both advanced manufacturing techniques and skilled hand finishing. This fusion of technology and human craftsmanship allows us to produce high volumes while maintaining extremely high quality standards.
Here’s a breakdown of the steps that go into creating our products:
Design – Our talented design team conceptualizes and finalizes every product we offer using industry leading computer-aided software. Custom orders are individually rendered to match the customer’s preferences.
Cutting – Computer numeric controlled (CNC) machining centers precisely cut each sign from sheet metal using an uploaded design file. This automated process ensures accuracy.
Forming – Pieces may be bent, rolled, or welded by hand based on the specific sign style and shape requirements.
Finishing – Every sign is uniquely finished and distressed using a combination of techniques to achieve a vintage look. This process is done by hand.
Coating – To protect against rust and sun damage, pieces are coated with a weather/UV resistant clear coat formulated for metal.
Inspection – Each piece undergoes a thorough final inspection to check for any flaws before being packaged for shipment.
Packaging – We carefully pack every order using quality materials to ensure safe transit direct to the customer.
